The IJSBA Toyota Governor's Cup, presented by AJ Handler's Upstate Watercraft Promotions went off this past weekend. It was truly an awesome event, with a big wide open course layed out on the Kanawha River in downtown Charleston West Virginia. A big shout out to Blackstar Racing's Trey Frame for working hard to provide the racers with prize money and product prizes for their efforts at the Governor's Cup. The GP Ski class was epic as usual. This is truly an exciting time for PWC racing, as the GP class has brought out some remarkable skis and amazing innovation. Racers such as Paul Puchalski, Rick Sherker, Carmine Colangelo, Rob Flores , Jimmy Wilson and now Bill "Hurricane" Haig have now built Hybrid, GP class skis. The popular Sea-Doo 951 powerplant has become a favorite, but the Kawasaki 1100's triple's of Jimmy Wilson and Rob Flores have to be the nastiest sounding things on the water, and proving to be a potent option in the GP Ski class wars. We hope to see a great turnout of racers, as we plan to do another give-away to top placing racers in certain classes. Look for the weekly Riders Meeting feature at OptimaRacing.com for the weekly update in what is going on in your sport!
